It smelled really good going inside the bakery. The shop was very small but filled with lots of people. The selling counter and kitchen were one side and a three-seater and condiments bar on the other side. The glass display welcomes you in. Ooohhh , can you see the cupcakes? There's a menu board showing the availability of each flavor per day. I can't decide which to get because I wanted to try everything! Btw, they're not cheap my friends. They're costly at $3.50 a piece. But I was there for the experience so what the heck. At first, I just chose the classic Red Velvet cupcake thinking I can only eat one since I just had frozen yogurt. But while it was being packed to go, the brown and white colored cupcake with chocolate sprinkles caught my eye and so I ended up buying the Black & White cupcake as well. I wanted to savor each and every bite of it so I waited to get home before I tried them. They packed my cupcakes in a cute little box sealed with a Sprinkles sticker. I also got a wooden fork and knife for the full experience. Aren't the utensils so cute?
Time to try the cupcakes! I did eat the Red Velvet first and it was divine. The cupcake was moist and the flavor was just right, not sweet at all. The cream cheese frosting gave the sweet element of the cupcake. It was a tad too sweet for my taste but combining the frosting with the cake in one bite balanced out the total flavor. It was delicious. Then I went for the Black & White cupcake. Oh the Belgian dark chocolate was so rich, tasty and luscious! Again, not too sweet, the bitterness and savory of the dark chocolate was just right, combined with sweetness from the frosting...oh my mouth waters! Now I understand why people are raving about their cupcakes. What a dessert to cap off my day!
I've been in LA for a while now and I don't know why I haven't tried her cupcakes! I am now a fan and will definitely go back for more!
